Painting on Wood with Acrylic

When I paint with Acrylics I'm careful to start with the opaque. It takes a lot of layers to cover a surface with translucide paint such as Ultramarine Blue, Primary Yellow, Alizarin Crimson...

I use high saturated colors on purpose, but you should get used to using limited palettes.

If you used Gesso and not Acrylic Gesso, you'll notice it's very dry and it's going to stop the flow of the acylic when you paint on it. To give the plastic feeling of the Acrylic Gesso, use a coat or two of matte medium.
